Russia-Ukraine Crisis: Joe Biden bans Russian flights from US airspace

WASHINGTON: US President Joe Biden, in his first state of the union address, announced a ban on Russian aircraft from the US airspace in the middle of the Ukrainian and Russian war.

“Tonight I announce that we will join our allies in closing the American airspace to all Russian flights, further isolate Russia and add additional pressure on their economy,” the President said.

Biden also issued an unpleasant warning that without consequences, Russian president’s aggression Vladimir Putin would not be contained to Ukraine.

“Throughout our history, we have learned this lesson, when the dictator does not pay the price for their aggression, they cause more chaos,” Biden said. “They continue to move. And, costs and threats to America and the world continue to increase.”

On Sundays, the European Union and Canada announced that they closed their airspace to Russian airlines and private planes owned by Russian-rich people.

Canadian tires lead the largest airline in Russia, Aeroflot, Monday to say that it suspended a flight to New York, Washington, Miami and Los Angeles until Wednesday.
