Comedian Raju Srivastava died today in Delhi, more than a month after he suffered a heart attack while exercising in the gym. He is 58 years old.
Raju Srivastava was declared dead at 10:20 am, said the PTI News Agency quoting a hospital source.
“I got a call from a family about half an hour ago said he was no longer there. This is really a very unfortunate news. He fought in the hospital for more than 40 days,” his brother Dipoo Srivastava told the agency.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Head of Uttar Minister Pradesh Yogi Adityanath are among the leaders who rely on the death of the comedian.
“I am very sad with the death of the famous comedian Raju Srivastava. Aside from being an accomplished artist, he is also a very lively person. He is also very active in the social field. I expressed my condolences to my family and fans. Hindi.
Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences to the Srivastava family and said, “Raju Srivastava is no longer with us. I, on behalf of the UP people, pray that his soul rely on peace.”
Srivastava was treated at the hospital on August 10 after he passed out at the gym and was rushed to the Institute of Medical Sciences All India (AIMS). He underwent Angioplasty on the same day and put into the ventilator.
Srivastava has been active in the entertainment industry since the 1980s but received recognition only in 2005 after he participated in the stand-up comedy performance “The Great Indian Laughter Challenge”.
He has appeared in Hindi films like “Maine Pyar Kiya”, “Baazigar”, “Bombay to Goa” and “Aamdani Atthani Khachaha Rupaiya”. He is one of the contestants in “Bigg Boss” the third season.
Srivastava also served as Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Film Development Council until his death.
