Good Doctor, starring the new Freddie Highmore, wrapped his sixth season in ABC in the United States once again repeating his role as Shaun Murphy who worked at St. Bonaventure San Jose. This series is now in more Netflix regions than before but is that streaming where you live? Let’s look.
The medical drama is somewhat stagnant on network television with several new shows debut in the genre but generally, they are somewhat so, very, very, very, This continued the ABC government to become a network with the best medical drama with their main title, Gray’s Anatomy, now heading to the 77th season.
The Good Doctor is slightly different and breathes fresh air in the room which began aired again in 2017. Based on the Korean series of the same name, the star show Freddie Highmore, mostly known for the Bates Motel series (which has mostly departed from Netflix in a few years final).
Why isn’t The Good Doctor on Netflix US?
Although Netflix has taken several ABC performances over the past decade, a good doctor hasn’t existed between them and will continue that fashion.In the United States, ABC is owned by Disney who has some shares upstream where he chose to place most of his performances by default unless separate arrangements can be made.
In the case of a good doctor, there is no meaningful arrangement that upstream remains a single subscription service that is currently carrying a show.In the long run, this event can be licensed but in recent years, Disney/ABC has only chosen to do this with free streaming services such as IMDBTV. It is believed that Disney-ABC domestic television has a single right for this series, unlike international rights for this series.
Other Netflix Regions Availability for The Good Doctor
Until 2021, there was no Netflix area outside the United States that managed to secure the first season or the following season from a good doctor. In most cases of the country, alternative arrangements have been made.Since we first posted about Good Doctor in 2018, Crave in Canada has taken a license for seasons 1 to 3 from Good Doctor.
In 2020, Amazon Prime Video took rights in Australia, this series also landed on Netflix Au with Seasons 1-3 on May 4, 2021.Since then, this show has landed in at least 30 Netflix regions with most countries streaming the 1-4 season (with a new season for months after the final season) and many others are streaming season 1-3.
