US to drop Covid testing for incoming international flyers from Sunday

Biden administration will drop the pre-departure of the COVID-19 international air testing requirements effectively Sunday at 12:01am after the heavy lobby of the airline and the travel industry.

The Biden administration will announce on Friday that the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will no longer require COVID-19 Pre-Appointment Testing for travelers who come to the United States after being determined based on science and data that this requirement is not longer needed.

The CDC will re -assess this decision in 90 days, the official said.The announcement came when the busy summer travel season began and the operator was prepared for a record request. The airline said that many Americans did not travel internationally because their concerns would be positive and stranded abroad.

Since December, the CDC has required travelers to test negatively in one day before flights to the United States but do not require testing for land border crossing.
