37% Of People Wish This Discontinued Android Phone Would Make A Comeback

Over the years, the Google Android operating system has evolved into a stable and mature platform that is relied upon and relied on by millions of smartphone users. The last 14 years have also watched Android Play Host for several iconic smartphones. Some examples of these devices include T-Mobile G1 from 2008 (First Android Smartphone), Google Nexus One (2010), and the first generation of Samsung’s Galaxy Note and Galaxy S Series. Safe to assume that most of the smartphones mentioned above have a fairly large fan. In fact, there is a good opportunity that many of these smartphones may still find a number of takers if each manufacturer decides to revive the device/series that has been an icon.

However, given the many smartphones that have been using Android for many years, it is challenging even Android fans who are eager to be at home in one favorites among a decent sea of competitors. Therefore, it is only fair for us to think that running a small poll must help cleanse things. And, that’s what we do. To find the pulse of the pulse of Android consumers on average, we ask 592 people in the US to choose the completely Android smartphone they expect to return in 2022.

The smartphone in this list includes some of the most iconic devices that have run Android. Although we are sure that the majority of Slashgear readers will agree with the results of the poll, some inclusions in the list may be considered unexpected. However, given the regional poll nature (with respondents especially from the US), American bias is clearly unexpected.

Samsung shouldn’t have killed the Galaxy Note

At this time, almost everyone in the Android camp is aware that the Samsung Galaxy Note brand line is dead. Samsung’s recent efforts showed that most galaxy-centric features have been integrated into the company’s Ultra Galaxy S series. This is likely to occur in 2023 when Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

However, no matter what Samsung thinks about the Galaxy Note lineup, a large number of users continue to believe that Samsung should not fake the Galaxy Note at all. The majority of respondents in our poll (37.33%) hope that Samsung will return the Galaxy Note series in the future.

The second smartphone series that is expected by most people will return is the LG G-Series which managed to collect 22.80% of the votes. Android fans will remember the iconic handset from the LG G series to mobile phones such as the LG G2, G3, G4, and other successors – which culminated with the LG G8 series in 2019. However, with LG set its smartphone business in 2021, the series opportunities LG G makes a bleak comeback display.

The unexpected entrants

Entries that are somewhat surprising to this list-with 14.02% of the coincidence are the range of Android BlackBerry smartphones called BlackBerry Key. The first BlackBerry Key smartphone is known for their complete physical QWERTY keyboard in 2017. This original device matches the name BlackBerry Keyone. A year later, BlackBerry followed up with the launch of the successor called BlackBerry Key2. While these two devices indeed arouse a considerable interest at the time of their announcement, this TCL handset does not really burn sales charts. However, it did not stop the good percentage of our voters from arguing that the BlackBerry Key series deserves a comeback.

With 13.85% of the votes, the Galaxy Nexus made in Samsung is another surprising participant in our list. Initially launched in 2011, this smartphone is unique in the fact that it runs the Android stock version that is contrary to Samsung’s Touchwiz UI. Very good specifications sheet (for now), and the design aspect of the device makes it a favorite among fans one decade ago.

Another handset a large number of respondents who are considered worthy of getting a comeback are HTC. This phone managed to collect 11.99% of the votes. The first HTC was released in 2013, and several iterations appeared afterwards.

Given that the three brands in the list don’t even make an Android smartphone anymore (the presence of HTC in the smartphone space can be ignored, for at least), there is very little possibility that most of these devices make comeback. But theoretically, Samsung can make the Galaxy Nexus notes and resurrection series occur if there is a significant public demand.
